AboutI’ve been working at the interstice of communication, content, and structures of knowledge for quite a while. What I do is completely tailored to the specific business. But at core, I offer strategic communications guidance, tying together business needs, future directions, current research, and available resources to develop the right systems to support your needs.
Experience and qualifications-wise, I’ve designed and delivered national communications strategies and operational guides. I’ve worked on tender bids, competetive grant rounds, built websites, supported B Corp certification processes, managed projects, and ran my own businesses. I’ve also spoken at international conferences, designed and implemented national engagement strategies, written policy and operational guides, and designed social media strategies. I’m a published author with numerous books, chapters, and journal articles. I’ve also held positions at RMIT University, Monash University, University of the Sunshine Coast, and University of Melbourne, and I have a PhD from the University of Queensland. Most recently I’ve been working with companies such as Hobart City Council, Cumulus Studio, Artibus Innovation, and Climate Capital, supporting them across a variety of strategic communication and research needs.
My background is in music, scholarship, and the study of contemporary belief. This fairly swiftly led me to a fascination with the history of ideas, and the ways they are communicated. I ended up a lecturer in communication for a while, teaching theory to undergraduates and producing research on media, cultural content, and modern belief. But more recently I’ve moved outside of the academy, and have been offering consulting services to small businesses.
